A decoration for the kitchen.
A fold out table for the kitchen is optimal for when you need more space then you just press the switch and you have more space

Much too much effort for a decorative element. You can also just click on the trap door, also goes...
Besides, you need a room of your own for the speech tone circuit, which could be better used for the kitchen, then you don't have a space problem so quickly.
Doesn't the switch power the door anyway because it hangs right next to it? That makes the Redstone completely superfluous.
The switch activates the trapdoor and the piston.
what is the piston for?
It makes it a little more interesting, but it's still pointless and way too elaborately built. Are you Redstoneneuling?
so: not only the idea is behindaart but the showroom couldn't be better. you seriously present a wood idea in a woodroom WITHOUT any other blocks / colors ? Haha xD
The piston can also be easier Powern. The idea is bad.

- You're absolutely right! The Redstone Sync and corrections by n17t01 completely superfluous, because Redstone can be transmitted 1 block through the wall (or here also the things right next to it!)...
Good idea, but very bad implementation: 1. you can operate the trapdoor with your hand (so even without lever)! 2. the redstone circuit is completely superfluous, since the lever also so operates the trapdoor! I give a neutral, because I like the idea despite the implementation :pouty:
Goes easier

@HAKler
Huh? You don't need a separate room for Redstone, you just click on the trapdoor. Zero Redstone needed!
