An arena with a wooden sun roof in which to fight.
The doors have a redstones circuit with three pistons on top of each other, but you can also just use iron doors. There should also be switches for the doors in the middle part, otherwise you can't get out if you accidentally fall in.
For the fires, Netherstone is recommended, as it burns forever.
You could also control the doors by placing pressure plates all over the arena except for one field.
Then the door only opens when there is only one person left in the arena.
