You can tell that you're still in your infancy when it comes to your building skills, and you're just going to let loose and explore the possibilities that Minecraft gives you.
In that respect, I think the elevator is a good idea and you can also see that you put some thought into how it works.
But it looks just now everything very bumpy and squishy. In this respect I rate with neutral, idea good, implementation failed because of your not yet exhausted potential.
