The mossy stones are supposed to represent that the laboratory has not been used for a long time, because so many experiments have been made in it and many explosions have taken place, the stones are already cracked.

Instructions:

Just make a room out of stone bricks and put mossy stones and cracked stones in it. There should be a balanced amount of stones so that it looks natural.
