Actually, it has no value, since everyone has Redstone lying around the house. You don't really need it there.
BUT: In adventure mode or if you have built in creative and then continue to play on survival, you can use that as a power source, but then at night the lamp is off 😀.
Useless, looks bad and uses too many daylight sensors.
