Beacon

A beacon to warn neighboring villages of invasions.

With this signal fire built from simple materials, you can quickly warn allies of invasions. Or let them know it's time to eat. Then simply light it.

Recommends as decoration on a hill or other places where it can be easily seen.

Instructions:

Materials:

3x3 base made of wooden boards (wood doesn't matter)
Bordering of the base area made of wooden steps (wood does not matter)
Core tower made of 3-4 bales of straw
2-3 blocks high wooden towers made of wooden boards in the corners of the base (wood doesn't matter)
Space between wooden towers filled with wooden fences (wood doesn't matter)

Of course, it is recommended to use the same type of wood. Ideally, it then also fits the environment (e.g. spruce in the tundra and oak in the deciduous forest).

Here is another picture from diagonally above to show that there are several bales of straw.

  1. I think that's a nice idea. What I don't understand is the straw bale?
And the complexity, in my opinion, is not medium but simple. But still
I'm gonna give it a LIKE.

  2. Hello, yes, the whole thing is pretty nice and beautiful to look at. But I'm with Brogamer3000, I don't understand the straw bale either 🙂 (but looks trontzdem Schöner with it, especially in the Sphax TP)

Also, in my opinion, the thing should not be lit with torches if it is to be a signal FIRE, I would then simply make the wooden structure out of stone and then light the straw from below; this would then give you your fire and the bales would burn upwards like a signal.

    Conclusion:
    Benefit 2/5
    Design 3/5
    __________
    = 5/10

  3. Reminds me of the beacons of Gondor from HdR. ^^
    Like!

@Brogamer3000 So the straw will fuel the fire and thus it will (theoretically) start burning faster.

  4. Yoo-hoo 😉

The complexity was originally on Easy. Sorry, must have saved it wrong 🙂

@Raccoon: Indeed, it is modeled after the beacons of Gondor.

  5. Raccoon is right, that looks like a beacon of Gondor, which may have even been intentional. Sure it's a shame because it burns when used, but it's really not expensive in terms of material cost (just a bit of wood and some wheat). Would actually have been more deserving of the complexity "Low".
The flares don't interfere in my opinion, an important beacon undoubtedly needs to be manned and then it can have lighting. Besides, in Minecraft a really practical use is prevented by the limited visibility, so it's purely decorative anyway.
Definitely deserves a like. I have built beacons so far only from Netherstein, which lasts forever, but everything must be lit individually and looks more unnatural.
