Monster Farm

In this dark room monsters spawn and are washed down water channels into a deep shaft, where they die from the falling damage and you can get to the items.

Monsters often leave at death useful things fall.

Instructions:

First you build a ground plan, in which you already insert the 1 block deep shaft for the creek. -
Then you build a building with a roof AND WITHOUT WINDOWS. Otherwise no monsters will appear. Then you let the water into the shaft so that it doesn't flow into the very deep hole in the middle, where the four shafts meet, which you still have to dig. Otherwise the monsters won't die on impact. Reinforce the sides that border the "stream" with a block in the height, so that the monsters don't climb out of the stream again.
-
The drop shaft should only have a flare at the end where the monsters hit. See picture...
-
Now just wait and eventually empty the well!

  1. Instead of the shaft you can also use a lava trap like this or use steps to create an area where you can kill the mobs without them seeing you.
You can also build several spawn rooms on top of each other. A lot of additional info can be found on the Minecraft wiki under [[Physical_Mechanisms/Monster Trap]].

  2. @Sortrebila no, not if you put funnels under it.
And if it is set correctly, then even without a funnel will not.
I find the idea very poorly implemented, as there are far better, and still simple monster farms.

  3. Poorly implemented, poorly described. After this example hardly use.

Mistake 1. The 1 block deep water shaft. Monsters have a pretty good AI by now, they just climb out of there.
Mistake 2. water and drop chute. Only 1 block wide, clogs easily, spiders do not land there at all and will stop the whole "farm".
Mistake 3. The description is crap. "the very deep hole" pretty inaccurate description. What exactly is very deep to you? Do I have to dig down to bedrock or is 10 block enough? Monsters have 20 hearts, witches a little more. They have to fall 24 blocks to die. 22 block if you want to kill them in one hit to farm XP. Spiders (which can't fall in this farm anyway) can cling to walls so they can survive the fall.

The chute should be at least 2*2 block wide. Then nothing clogs. This farm is also much too small than the effort would be worth it to build overhuapt.

To mistake 1: I have written in the description that one should build another block as reinforcement at the side, at which the "brook" borders... One should be able to read
To error 2 : Spiders spawn there anyway not often and verstopten tuen they also not... I've tried it. Clog the shaft does not, because the monsters die on impact...
Re error 3 : With very deep is meant very deep. That doesn't mean 10 blocks or so. As you said at least 24 blocks.

All in all it is only a suggestion
    The structure is VARIABLE...
By the way, that's something to keep in mind about everything on this site....
Besides, what matters is the idea....
Well, if you don't get it, you don't belong here.

@thebigsmileXD Buy yourself box German! Costs only 5 money 80!
You can't understand the second sentence at all....

  5. A slightly more detailed description would not be bad.
    Suggested improvement:

Build a 100×50 block room underground, about 10 blocks high (best with TNT, otherwise you'll be at it forever),Build hole about in the middle, 4×4 blocks diameter, about.30 blocks deep, that'll do for sure. At the bottom, build funnels that end in 6 double chests, which is in a small room off the spawn room.
Then build four main channels in the stone, about 2 blocks deep, and then keep building small channels 2 blocks wide that flow into a main channel. (Since the water only flows for 8 blocks, you have to build a gradation every 7 blocks).

Unfortunately, on the screenshot you can't see at all what kind of building idea is actually shown there.
